Wei Tian

R&D Staff, Neutron Scattering Scientist

Wei Tian is a research staff member in the Neutron Scattering Division at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. She received her Ph.D. in condensed matter physics from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville in 2006. Her doctoral thesis investigated novel low dimensional magnetism using neutron scattering techniques. She did her postdoctoral research in the neutron and X-ray scattering group at Ames Laboratory. The position was based at ORNL where she enhanced her knowledge on neutron scattering and later joined ORNL as a neutron scattering scientist. Her research interest includes magnetism in multiferroics, high-Tc superconductors, frustrated magnets, and quantum materials. In the past few years, her research focuses on using neutron scattering probe to study the emergent property in molecule multiferroics and two-dimensional metal-organic frameworks materials.
