Katie M Andrews

Bio

Katie Andrews is the Beamline Operations Section Head at the High Flux Isotope Reactor.  She manages the section to provide safe, compliant, and efficient operational and user support to the scattering program at HFIR while positioning the Science Support and the Instrument Support groups to lead operations and field work for the instrument upgrades during the HFIR beryllium reflector replacement (HBRR) project.  Katie joined ORNL in 2012 as an instrument system scientific associate and in 2019 became the operations manager for HFIR.  Prior to that she worked in an electron/ion gun production and testing laboratory in the private sector.  She received her MS in physics from North Carolina State University.
