Dr. Barbier is a Mechanical Engineering Researcher in the Spallation Neutron Source Division at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Her expertise is in the field of Fluid Mechanics and heat transfer, with experience in computational fluid dynamics and in experimental fluid mechanics. Dr. Barbier has worked on a variety of fields/industries, including: hard disk drives, biology, bio-inspired sensors, naval research, ITER, climate change, mass spectrometry, and neutron production. She receives several ORNL Significant Awards (2010, 2015 and 2018) for different R&D projects and a Secretary of Energy Achievement Award in 2011 for her contribution to the Energy labs response to the Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the summer of 2010.
