Gergely Nagy

Senior SANS Instrument Scientist - EQ-SANS, SNS

Gergely Nagy received his PhD in Physics from the Univerité de Grenoble for research performed at the Institut Laue-Langevin (Grenoble, France). During his post-doctoral appointment at the Paul Scherrer Institute (Villigen-PSI, Switzerland) then as a Wigner Postdoc Fellow at the Wigner Research Center for Physics (Budapest, Hungary) and as an Instrument Scientist Secondment at the European Spallation Source ERIC (ESS, Lund, Sweden) he was working on instrument design and development for the ESS and on neutron scattering study of biological systems. Gergely presently works as a staff member on the EQ-SANS instrument of the Spallation Neutron Source at ORNL. His current scientific interest is the structural and functional characterization of photosynthetic membranes in plants and unicellular organisms.
