Dana Humphreys

Dana Humphreys is a process controls engineer in ORNL’s Research Accelerator Division. Before coming to ORNL, she worked in the nuclear power industry. In her free time, Dana enjoys practicing Isshin-ryu karate with her three children and competing in karate tournaments within the Southeastern United States.

My passion is designing and maintaining control systems that operate in nuclear environments. At the Spallation Neutron Source, I work primarily with systems in the Target Building, which often requires complex solutions due to the radiation levels in the area. I work to provide operational support and design improvements for the target control systems to maintain 24/7 operation of one of the most advanced neutron scattering facilities in the world.

To be successful in my field, it is very important that you can effectively contribute your expertise in a team environment. It takes the synergy of a diverse team to support the changing scientific needs of the SNS facility."
