Gabrielle Boudreau is a user facilities analyst at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), where she analyzes and compiles data from the lab’s Neutron Sciences user programs, including publication and experiment metrics. Before working in the Neutron Sciences User Office, Boudreau managed the laboratory research library’s information systems. She has worked at ORNL for 28 years.

I compile metrics and data about the SNS and HFIR user facilities, and package it in an understandable way to show our productivity here in Neutron Sciences. It showcases what we’re doing, why we’re here, and the value and importance of the work done.”

“You can get that information through a story, like when a researcher talks about the impact of a specific experiment, but you can also understand it by saying ‘we have this many experiments’ and ‘we have this many bodies of scientific work that were cited by scientists around the world.’ That’s also important.”
