South Side User Laboratory

The South Side User Laboratory (SSUL) is located in the SNS Target Building, adjacent to the EQ-SANS instrument. This laboratory is available for use to all users and staff with approved neutron scattering experiments and offers laboratory space closer to the beamlines. Various commonly used consumables, supplies, and equipment are provided. This includes, but is not limited to, common solvents (e.g. Acetone, Ethanol, Isopropanol, Methanol), a HEPA filtered fume hood, a helium atmosphere MBRAUN glove box with a vacuum oven, centrifuges, dry baths, and a spectrophotometer. The fume hood and glove box are approved for nanomaterial handling. Visit our laboratory support page for a full list of provided consumables. Advanced planning for laboratory work can be coordinated with the laboratory space manager to ensure availability of supplies, equipment, and appropriate laboratory space for the duration of the experiment.
