Long-Term Chemistry / Nanomaterials Laboratory

The Long-Term Chemistry/Nanomaterials Laboratory is located within the General Chemistry Laboratory on the second floor of the SNS Central Laboratory and Office Building (CLO). The Long-Term Chemistry /Nanomaterials Laboratory offers a unique capability to the user community, as it is the only area within the CLO that is currently approved for nanomaterial handling. This laboratory is available for use to all users and staff with approved neutron scattering experiments and can accommodate long-term use on a case-by-case basis. Various commonly used consumables, supplies, and equipment are provided. This includes, but is not limited to, common solvents (e.g. Acetone, Ethanol, Isopropanol, Methanol), a HEPA filtered fume hood, and a helium atmosphere MBRAUN glove box with freezer, a cold well, and microscope capabilities. Advanced planning for laboratory work can be coordinated with the laboratory space manager to ensure availability of supplies, equipment, and appropriate laboratory space for the duration of the experiment.
